MonWHO presents at the 15th Canadian Conference on International Health
- On October 29th, Stéphanie Forté, our MonWHO president, gave an oral presentation entitled:
“Simulating the WHO to Foster a New Generation of Global Health Leaders” at the 15th Canadian Conference
on International Health (CCIH) in Ottawa. The presentation was part of a symposium on the future the Primary
Healthcare Movement in the context of the WHO and Global Health Policy. John MacDonald, professor of Primary
Healthcare at the University of Sydney facilitated the session. Prof. John MacDonald, Prof. Theodor MacDonald
from the London Metropolitan University and Dr. Farah Shroff from the University of British Columbia, each
presented their perspective on the issue.

MonWHO presents at the SUNSIH National Conference
- On the weekend of October 25th, MonWHO’s Executive Director, Chargé d’Affaires, Public Relations Director
and Theme Director attended the Student University Network for Social & International Health (SUNSIH)’s National Conference
in Ottawa. Their presentation about MonWHO at the Community Fair was successful in providing the public with information on
the Simulation and in networking. Among other organizations present at the conference were Engineers Without Borders Canada,
Results Canada and War Child International.

Mark your calendars! MonWHO 2009 will be held in Montreal from March 6 to 8th, 2009 and will address the timely topic of Environmental Health.
The Secretariat is busy preparing another action packed edition and is ready to exceed all expectations. Stay tuned for information on new additions such as travel bursaries.
Whether you would like to act as liaison with your respective university, help with background research or public relations, its never too early or too late to get involved in the organization of this entirely student-led and run conference!!

MonWHO receives international recognition
- MonWHO won the prize for 3rd best IFMSA project at the August Meeting of the IFMSA in Jamaica. The International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) is the largest student organization in the world, representing over a million
medical students from 98 countries, and acting as an official NGO at the World Health Organization (WHO).
